August has been a busy month so far. Melinda and I left on August 6th for my sisters wedding. Two days before that Jaime and Nicole had a baby girl Isabel and Jaime has jumped right into the dad role. We had to leave to get up to Seattle for my sisters wedding though so I didn’t get to see her til I got back. I’m very excited that my sister found someone that can deal with her craziness (I say that endearingly cause if your a Dilwicius then your nuttier then a fruitcake) and settle her down. The lame part is that he is a good career military guy who found out a couple weeks before the wedding that he has to go to Afghanistan on Sept 11th for a final tour of duty. So we wish my sister and her new husband the best while he is away. My sister lives on an island so I get island fever and have to get into the smoggy, noisy city to cure it. We ended up spending a couple days in the city cause apparently the island contaminates easy and everyone was horribly sick and was in no way able to entertain us so we entertained ourselves. To keep this from rambling on for ever here are some bullet points of our trip and look at the picture in the gallery to see what I’m talking about
- went to Pikes market (giant farmers market where they throw fish, first Starbucks, and had a Piorsky
- The EMP (experience music project, museum with great exhibits on guitars, musicians , and a whole floor where you can learn to play guitars, drums, sing, all in recording both. Recommend for music buffs.)
- Pioneer’s square (famous land marks and we did an underground tour that was pretty neat.)
- Trophy cup cakes (as seen on Martha Stewart, of course Melinda had to try them.)
- Tea at some cottage on some town on the Island somewhere as we headed north.
- Went across the deception pass bridge (supposedly the most photographed bridge.)
- wine tasting on the island
- Golfing along the coast of the island
- We went to a coast fort from WWII and a nearby light house
- I ate a cookie called a cow chip (like a cow pie…. but it was really good
- Went to the Utilikilt store. ( check out their site Utilikilts.com and you can where a kilt with me)
- Oh I almost forgot the Scottish festival and Highland games
- I think that about covers it. Great trip though!
